Congratulations, City of Landfall Village!
Thursday, May 29, 2025, was a day of celebration as the City of Landfall Village formally recognized the repayment of a $7 million bond held by the Washington County CDA and the official Landfall HRA ownership of the mobile home park.
In the early 1990s, a 53-acre piece of land on the eastern shore of Tanners Lake, home to several hundred Washington County residents, was at risk of being sold, razed, and redeveloped. Because the homes in the area fulfilled a significant need for local affordable housing, residents searched for ways to save the community. The Washington County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (now the Washington County CDA) stepped in with a $7 million bond to ensure the community, now officially called the City of Landfall Village, would continue to exist.
On Thursday, May 29, the City of Landfall Village formally recognized the repayment of the bond in full. Because the city now owns its land, the celebration was billed as an Independence Day with music, food, fun, and a ceremony to mark the occasion.
Many Landfall Village officials, Washington County elected officials, and Washington County CDA representatives joined the residents in acknowledging the diligent, fiscally responsible efforts of the city in repaying the bond.
Congratulations, Landfall!
