In 2021, the City of Hugo used Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to expand the facility for Hugo Good Neighbors Food Shelf (pictured) which was built in 2015. With the support of community partnerships and CDBG funds, the growing needs of the community could be met.
Communities in Washington County have used CDBG funds for other projects such as street and sidewalk improvements, deteriorating gas line replacement, installation of more accessible doors, and converting vacant properties to parks and playgrounds.
