Kristen Scobie Earns NALHFA’s NextGen in Affordable Housing Award

The Washington County CDA is thrilled to share that Community Development Assistant Director Kristen Scobie has been recognized with the NextGen in Affordable Housing Award from the National Association of Local Housing Finance Agencies (NALHFA). This award honors emerging leaders who are already shaping the future of our industry through innovation, collaboration, and commitment to expanding opportunity.

Kristen is a highly effective leader on the CDA’s Community Development team. She is an exceptional communicator, resident-centered in her decision making, adept at problem solving within highly technical and complex situations, and supportive of her team as they continue to develop their own professional skills. “Kristen is an emerging leader whose work consistently demonstrates the creativity, resilience, and courage required to deliver complex affordable housing developments while keeping residents at the center of every decision,” commented CDA Board Chair Temmy Olasimbo.

Also at the San Antonio conference, Executive Director Melissa Taphorn accepted the 2026 Multifamily Award of Excellence Winner on behalf of the many key stakeholders. Read more here!
